|Daniele Watts chatting with LAPD in Studio City, California|
Django star arrested in Studio City on suspicion of prostitution Danièle Watts, an African-American actress who played Coco in Django Unchained and appears as Martin Lawrence's daughter on FX's Partners, says she was handcuffed and detained on Thursday by police in Los Angeles who suspected she was a prostitute.
According to Watts, she was approached by two police officers after kissing her husband Brian James Lucas, who is white, in public. Watts was reportedly asked to show ID and, when she refused, she was handcuffed and placed in the back of a police car. They let her go after finding out who she was.
Facebook comment: They didn't arrest her, they detained her. THEY HAD NOTHING TO ARREST HER FOR! They let her go quite quickly when they realized we were right outside CBS and that she was a celebrity and I was a celeb chef. Before they figured out who she was they were threatening calling an ambulance and drugging her for being psychologically unstable, SO NOT COOL WHATSOEVER! We still forgive, love and bless them...just not putting up with this for our own freedom and heart space. (From this I have to guess she was going off on police and probably caused the wound to her own arm by flailing around)
Daniele wrote about the incident on her facebook page:
Today I was handcuffed and detained by 2 police officers from the Studio City Police Department after refusing to agree that I had done something wrong by showing affection, fully clothed, in a public place. No, what she did was refuse to show the officer her ID and walked away from him. She and her boyfriend were making out in a car in the parking lot of the studio when someone called in an "indecent exposure" complaint. Hollywood is filled with prostitutes. Make out at home, get a room, but don't be an ass when cops bust you for doing the nasty in a public place. The LAPD released a statement confirming that North Hollywood patrol officers responded to a radio call September 11 from a citizen, who said the couple were involved in “indecent exposure inside a silver Mercedes with the vehicle door open.”

LAPD/Studio City Police have no record of the incident because she was not arrested, only detained for refusing to show ID and walking away from officers when asked. The police had probable cause to ask Watts for her ID in accordance with CAL. PEN. CODE § 647 :
Except as provided in subdivision (l), every person who commits any of the following acts is guilty of disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor:
(a) Who solicits anyone to engage in or who engages in lewd or dissolute conduct in any public place or in any place open to the public or exposed to public view.
Of course Watts and her boyfriend blame the incident on racism, even though both were asked for their ID - Bryan asserted his "white privilege" and handed his ID to the officer without incident. The officers are "racist" because they didn't allow for Daniele's "black privilege to refuse to cooperate with authority, and if need be, resist arrest.
Ten second video from TMZ - wonder why Brian Lucas didn't post the entire video - the roughing up while throwing "D" into the cop car?
Brian writes that he and "D" have retained a lawyer and will file a complaint with the LAPD. Give me a break. The glorified chef, Brian Lucas (Chef Belive) writes on his facebook page:
|Hard to believe the "fully dressed" Daniele would wear anything so revealing in public...or nah?|
They weren't expecting D to be so intelligent and outspoken, and left truly feeling the fear vibration finding out that they had just fucked with 2 celebrities (Celebrated People).and
