Medical Examiner and Detective (name redacted) testifies
- Dorian Johnson Interview
- Met "Big Mike" 3 months prior to shooting
- When he met Michael Brown Michael lived with his grandmother at Northwinds apartments, within three months he moved out of his grandmother's house and into a friend's apartment at Canfield Green
- Dorian changes three months to knowing Mike a month or two
- Dorian says he smokes pot every morning (while looking for a job)
- Brown was staying with a friend of Dorian Johnson
- Dorian basically says he and Brown were more acquaintances than friends
- Dorian leaves his house at 7:00 am, very little happens aside from running into Mike and then they stop and talk to construction workers (which was reported to have been only minutes before the robbery of Ferguson Market
- On the day of the shooting Dorian and Brown got to know each other....they had a conversation that consisted of telling each other about their lives, school, work, etc
- Dorian was headed to someone's house that sold cigarillos, but the getting-to-know-each-other conversation distracted Dorian and before he knew it, he and Brown were headed to the store (my opinion is Mike was the guy who sold cigarillos)
- Mike Brown didn't have money on him when they went to the store
- As they are walking, knowing the clerk likely called the police, Brown is orgainizing the packs of cigarillos in his hands, out in the open
- Mike and Dorian see squad cars, but they don't run or hide, knowing the clerk said he was going to call police
- Brown had the cigarillos in both hands when Wilson pulled up (interesting Q&A here)
- Brown never let go of the cigarillos while Wilson was allegedly grabbing him by the neck and shirt...he turns at one point and hand the cigarillos to Johnson
- Wilson was only using his left hand during this struggle and Brown was not able to free himself from Wilson's grip - Wilson continued to try and pull Brown INTO the car through the car window, with only his left hand
- Dorian considered himself a "mentor" to the young people in Ferguson
- Mike had the cigarillos in his hands, and didn't try to hide them, when Wilson pulled up
- Instead of a conversation about "Jesus", Mike and the construction worker talked about getting high (which is what I said the day the construction worker's witness video came out)
- Johnson says he and Brown didn't get out of the middle of the street because they didn't like the way Wilson asked....it was disrespectful (obviously not worried that cop would shoot them for walking while black)
- When he saw Big Mike that morning, he was standing on the third floor...this is where the young man video taped the construction workers
- Mike's grandmother made him move out
- Johnson says Brown pushed the clerk because the clerk tried to grab him
- Johnson admits he's been tased before, although earlier he said he'd never had any "real" criminal charges against him
- According to Johnson, Mike is struggling to get away from Wilson, as Wilson moves his one hand from Mike's throat, to his collar, to Mike's right hand
- Dorian changed clothes when he went into the apartment right after the shooting
- At beginning of deposition Dorian says he never met Brown's family...after the shooting he says he saw Brown's family standing around wanting answers and the police didn't have any
- Dorian went to Brown's grandmother's house to tell her what happened to Mike. Now he says Mike was living at his grandmother's house...earlier he said Mike had been kicked out
- He says Mike's family was there at grandmother's house...Auntie, Uncle, grandmother...he does not mention Brown's mother
- The family asked Johnson to speak to the media for them
- Johnson spoke to police and FBI on the 13th (contrary to what his lawyer told media)
- Johnson said after the second shot Mike turned around and put one hand up and said he didn't have a gun (one hand?)
- Darren Wilson Testimony p. 196

- Wilson discusses what was on his duty belt
- Gun had 12 in the magazine and one in the chamber
- Didn't have a taser/elects not to carry one
- "Why don't you guys walk on the sidewalk?"
- Notices cigarillos
- "I felt like a 5 year old holding onto Hulk Hogan."
- Why he decided against mace
- Gun as only option
- "You are too much of a pussy to shoot me"
- Thought third punch could be "fatal"
- Envisioning a bullet going into my leg
- Gun doesn't fire on the first two trigger pulls
- "It looks like a demon"
- Then Brown runs
- Wilson's gunshots "bulking up" Brown
- Punches to the face warranted use of force
- Wilson didn't think he needed to go to the hospital until assistant chief said he should.
- Thought of a "use of force triangle" in his head during struggle
- Brown was a threat even though he was running away
- Original Document (PD
MY NOTES
- Mike Brown's socks had marijuana leaves on them
- Wilson: When he told Johnson and Brown to get off the street Johnson kept walking and said, "we are almost to our destination"...then Brown came around the car to Wilson's window and said, "fuck what you have to say" as he kept walking
- Wilson noticed the cigarillos in Brown's hand and at what Brown and Johnson was wearing and it clicked that they fit the store robbery description - the two never stopped, they just kept walking
- Wilson tells Brown to "come here for a minute" as he is opening his door to exit his vehicle. Brown comes up and slams Wilson's door shut and asks "What the fuck you gonna do about it?".
- Wilson tells Brown to get back, when he doesn't comply, Wilson uses his door to push him back, Brown just stares and him and refuses to move, Wilson tells him to "get the fuck back"
- Brown slams Wilson's door shut again, ducks into his car and punches Wilson...he then stops for a few seconds to hand his cigarillos to Johnson, "hey man, hold these". Brown's other hand is inside Wilson's car and Wilson grabs hold of it
- Wilson tries to get out of his car and Brown punches him again
- Wilson considers his options ....flashlight, asp, mace, and finally pulls his gun and tells Brown to get back or he will shoot, at which point Brown grabbed his gun and said "you are too much of a pussy to shoot me". He then twists the gun around and pushes it into Wilson's hip
- Once Dorian Johnson walked past Wilson's car, he never saw him again
