A man who held four elderly men hostage in a North Houston home has been charged. He allegedly kept them in a room with no toilet and only one chair in order to take their social securtiy and veteran's benefit checks.
Walter Renard Jones, 31, is charged with two counts of injury to the elderly - serious bodily injury in the 263rd state District Court.

No word as to the race of the victims at this time.Investigators with the Houston Police Department said that the four men were held captive in a garage and were living in “deplorable conditions” while being forced to hand over their monthly incomes.The victims told officers they were held against their will in the converted garage and given only scraps to eat. The residence is located in the 8600 block of White Castle Lane.Three of the men, who appeared to be suffering from malnutrition, were taken to LBJ Hospital. They are in stable condition Saturday morning, police said.[Link to story]
