As the above article states, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is basically backing a proposed international law banning criticism of Islam. In a statement Ki-moon said:

And?? Bill Maher has been calling God and anyone who believes in him a fool for decades. Should we rise up against atheists - murder them and burn down their houses, riot in the streets and have Maher arrested? Will Obama apologize to Christians? Will there be an international law banning criticism of ALL religions - or just a chosen few?
He went on to say:

“Freedoms of expression should be and must be guaranteed and protected,when they are used for common justice, common purpose,”
“When some people use this freedom of expression to provoke or humiliate some others’ values and beliefs, then this cannot be protected in such a way.”
